Vastra by Mala Munde is a Saree brand that specialises in festive and occasion wear keeping in mind the traditional Indian practices and sensibilities to promote Indian craft in the most minimalistic manner. Each and every Saree is routed with skilful practices and is a reflection of minimal Indian aesthetic.
Designer says, “The whole idea started in 2016 when she detected CANCER during her chemotherapy she decided to re-live her dream of designing saree at the age of 50 and that’s how her journey started . She had always loved Sarees and crystals and he’d is when the whole idea of curating VASTRA emerged. The fabric used are more of Indian handloom to imported with diversified varieties.She has her own In-house group of 15 skillful women workers and dedicated weavers. The whole idea began in-house where she designed and got them handcrafted women’s wear brand which is minimalistic and Indian at its core.All are fabrics are handloom in all kinds of silk from Tussar, Ghicha, Matka to Spun silk, Imported material, glass Georgette, velvet , Pure Tissue which has a nice texture and act as a perfect base for our design.
We do a combination of Crystal and Bead work for all our embellishment keeping it vintage through the combination and colors of material, for Blouse’s we draw alot of inspiration from vintage Indian pictures from royal clothing to the old heritage of crocheting
Similarly travelling all over after doing exhibition have got inspired a lot for our Indian culture of crochet , we curated a collection of crochet blouse ensembled with crystals, sequence and bead work which stand as our Signature Style !We are committed towards high quality range of product that are a result of a deep understanding of our culture, craft, minimalistic yet innovative design and superior craftsmanship.
In the small run of the brand we survived the pandemic and what kept us going is the love and acceptance of our clients.
